Used Savage 99C 308 WIN

This firearm has been checked, cleaned, and tuned by a gunsmith before posting. The action is smooth and the barrel is clean. A few nicks on the stock gives this old-time firearms some character.

One of our fellow Canadians brought us a unique piece of Canadian firearms history. The Savage Model 99C! The Savage model 99C is an old-time lever-action rifle chambered in 308 WIN. The "C" stands for "Clip" as this model sports a detatchable box magazine! 308 WIN is a calibre not traditionally associated with lever-action rifles and commonly found in surplus bulk in Canada. This makes the Savage Model 99C a great choice for Canadian shooters looking to adopt a lever-action into their collection with an affordable, and still existing, calibre.

Not only is the Savage 99C a unique firearm but it also has its footnotes in the history of Canada. During World War I the Montreal Home Guard were issued 2500 Savage Model 99 rifles. The rifle was nicknamed the Montreal Musket and many guardsmen had their names carved into the stock or even engraved on the receiver! That being said, the 308 WIN model didn't come around till 1956 so don't bother checking this one for one. I think I speak for most of us though when I say we'd rather grab a few spam cans of 308 WIN then spend our days hunting down a box of .303 in this market!
